The Housing Minister Matthew Pennycook has written to the President of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) to convey a clear message on behalf of government to professional planners.

The Housing Minister Matthew Pennycook has written today to Lindsey Richards, President of the Royal Town Planning Institute to convey a clear message on behalf of government to professional planners – and in particular those serving in local authorities across England.

On 30 July 2024, the government launched a consultation on proposed reforms to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and several other changes to the planning system. On 12 December 2024, the government published its response to this consultation alongside an updated National Planning Policy Framework.
