The IHBC’s Director Seán O’Reilly has written to representative Branch Committee Officers with initial introductions and contacts details for the new Branch Liaison and Support Consultants (BL&SC), our new way to help volunteers.
Seán O’Reilly writes to each Committee:
… I’m writing to introduce to your newly appointed Branch Liaison & Support Consultant… as outlined in the recent Branch Bulletin HERE. If any of you are not the best people for these contacts, please do pass on this email to them… please… let us know if we should contact you with Committee updates from the National Office…
… in January I will send on a more full description of roles and profiles etc.
[Your consultant’s] main role is to offer regionally-based guidance and advice to their assigned Branches, including by helping volunteers liaise with the National Office services, resources and networks.
For now, the consultant service sits within the half-day per week of their contract with the IHBC, so I’m sure you’ll appreciate that their time has to be managed and prioritised carefully. I do hope this wider service will grow, but for now we can all explore how it might best work for you.
At present all our new Branch Consultants are familiarising themselves with the IHBC’s National Office and networks. This familiarisation also starts with getting to know how they can help your Branch and voluntary activities, so please do welcome them to your voluntary network in any ways that seem best suited to you…
I will send more substantial and detailed updates about the opportunities this new service can offer after the break, and I hope also to have plans in place for more substantial meetings to ensure we make the best of these new opportunities.
Very best for now, and for Christmas and the New Year, and if you have any specific queries for me on these matters please feel free to contact me direct.
