Wren300 is a tercentenary celebration of Sir Christopher Wren (1632-1723)-Mathematician, Astronomer and one of the country’s most distinguished Architects, best known for the design of many London churches, including St Paul’s Cathedral. He was a founder of the Royal Society and his scientific work was highly regarded by Sir Isaac Newton.
Across 2023 we will be shining a light on Wren’s churches and their wealth of fascinating histories for everyone. Through innovative techniques, new perspectives in historical research, conservation, schools programmes, events and special projects, we invite you to join us in celebrating Wren and his inspirational legacy….

Guided Tour City in Spires – A Tour of Wren Churches The City of London – Join an expert City of London Guide, to discover several of Wren’s City of London churches.
21 September 2023
Children’s event: Raising the Roof – a cantata. The Guildhall – A choral celebration of Wren’s career & architecture in words, art and song across the City of London schools.
17 May 2023
Jaideep Pandit Lecture at 6pm. Christopher Wren’s Medical Discoveries: the ‘Architect of Human Anatomy’ Gresham College – Christopher Wren was part of probably the first ‘research team’ assembled in Oxford in the 17th century, dedicated to better understanding the human body. The lecture will explain the continued relevance of these discoveries.
