Edinburgh World Heritage is launching a Climate Emergency Grant that will provide funding to private owners and public, private and third sector organisations wishing to carry out targeted energy efficiency improvements or climate change adaptation interventions alongside conservation repairs in their properties – specifically involving historic windows, doors and rainwater goods.

Properties should be located in the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh World Heritage Site or in an adjoining area.

The Climate Emergency Grant’s objective is to implement a series of small-scale pilot projects that will help test sensitive solutions that suit the local context of the World Heritage Site and inform future guidance.

Type of funding available

We can provide funding of up to 100% of grant eligible costs for the project design phase and up to 70% of grant eligible costs for approved works. The exact balance of funding will be specific to each project. Funding provided as part of the Climate Emergency Grant is non-repayable.

The maximum amount of Climate Emergency Grant we can offer per project is capped at £25,000.
