The Linkedin Group of The Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) has now passed 500 members.
Dave Chetwyn, IHBC’s past chair, who established the group on the popular social networking site, said: ‘This is a great success for the IHBC, and I’m delighted our Linkedin Group has established itself so quickly as a part of the IHBC’s support for built environment and construction professionals’.
Charles Strang, IHBC’s Communications Secretary, said: ‘Our LinkedIn group, like our other social networking initiatives, is part of the IHBC’s wider strategy to improve communications and foster debate, which can then inform the Institute’s responses to consultations and key issues for the sector. Already it has played an important role in contributing to discussions on major policy areas such as the England’s developing National Planning Policy Framework’.
‘Our social networking initiatives also help raise the profile of the institute, both with prospective members as well as those with a more general interest in building and environmental conservation, and I’m delighted these initiatives are already proving such a popular success’.
