The Health & Safety Executive wants to ensure that all relevant trades are given information regarding the dangers of Asbestos as early as possible in their careers. To that end they have developed a 45min training package for use in apprenticeship programmes
Seamus Hanna has noted that it will be of use to the heritage sector as asbestos may be found in older buildings. The HSE are going to push forward with enforcements in respect of individuals not having Asbestos Awareness training if it has been deemed appropriate i.e. the occupation they are involved with could bring them into contact with Asbestos Containing materials.
