Theatres can apply for grants of up to £15,000 fro the Theatres Trust to fund immediate repair and maintenance work, with a closing date of 15 March 2017.
In partnership with the Wolfson Foundation, the new fund allows theatres that are in need of immediate repair and maintenance, and which could otherwise face closure, to apply for the grants. The scheme is open to all theatres operating a year-round programme of live performances. Those that are not statutory listed will need to demonstrate the architectural significance of their building.
The scheme will not fund repairs to equipment, fixtures and fittings, and plant except where a major failure is proving a significant risk to the theatre’s continued operation.
There will be two funding rounds. The first will close on 15 March 2017 (with decisions announced in July) and round two will close on 16 September 2017 (with decisions announced in January 2018).
