Edition 9 of Planning Policy Wales, which contains an updated chapter 6 on the historic environment, has been published.
Planning Policy Wales provides national planning policy supporting the protection of the historic environment through the planning system.
Chapter 6 sets out Wales’s current national planning policy for consideration of the historic environment through the planning system. The revised chapter 6 was the subject of a full public consultation and 75 responses were received.
The guidance is supplemented by Technical Advice Notes (TANs) and Minerals Technical Advice Notes (MTANs). Welsh Ministers and Planning Inspectors will consider these guidance documents when deciding on called-in planning applications and appeals.
