Arvon runs courses in creative writing featuring famous names from the Poet Laureate to Lenny Henry. It owns a number of historic buildings including the former homes of John Osborne and Ted Hughes. They are looking for a trustee to succeed our member David Rhodes. David points out that experience matters more than an architectural qualification and, as important, it is not a paid post.
Arvon says:
‘We own three historic houses, in Shropshire, Yorkshire and Devon, and responsible custodianship of these buildings is a substantial part of the Foundation’s work.
We are now looking for two new trustees to sit on our Trustee Council, one with significant experience of architecture and conservation to also Chair our Properties Committee, and a second, with an accountancy qualification, to sit on our Finance Committee.
Both must be committed to the aims and values of Arvon and we particularly welcome applications from candidates from ethnic minorities, or with disabilities.’
