Those of you who work or live in historic places in Scotland will be interested to know that this year’s creative place awards are now open for entries, with £300,000 of funding available and a deadline of 2 February for the first stage of applications.

Applications for the 2015 Creative Place Awards open today, Wednesday 19 November, 2014. In total, £300,000 will be awarded across Scotland’s smaller communities, outside of the main cities, to enable them to enhance and promote creative activities and programmes in their area and to recognise communities’ ambitions to use the arts for the benefit of both local residents and visitors to their area.
Applications are encouraged from cultural organisations, community groups and local authorities to represent their village, town or community to bid for an Award, with an application deadline of 5pm, Mon 2 Feb, 2015.
