Consultation on further changes in Welsh planning

A consultation has been issued by the Welsh Government which seeks changes to the manner with which proposals are dealt with by Welsh ministers, with a closing date of 31 January. 

The Welsh Government writes:
This document proposes to:

  1. introduce a more efficient system for advertisement appeals in line with the Householder Appeal System and Commercial Appeal System, which are currently subject to a pilot scheme
  2. change how called in applications and appeals by statutory undertakers are dealt with
  3. introduce the ability for an appeal against non-determination to be returned to the local planning authority for a decision within a prescribed timescale
  4. transfer authority for the determination of certain appeals from the Welsh Ministers to the Planning Inspectorate.
