Crowdfunding success for ‘bombed out church’

An iconic Grade II* listed church in Liverpool has reached its initial target funding goal through a crowdsourcing initiative online.

St Luke’s Church is known locally as the bombed out church as its shell has been preserved following second world war bomb damage.

The Liverpool Echo reported on the detail of the campaign, including the proposals to manage and the continued care of the building, and also the establishment of a community interest company to host arts events within the building, keeping it as a managed ruin.
