The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) is championing the opportunities available in construction at all levels, and reveals some dramatic statistics on misconceptions around training and employment in the industry and discussing action being taken for the varied employment routes.
CITB writes:
‘According to recent research, 35% of careers advisers in schools believe (wrongly) that construction is an unattractive career, and over 60% offer no information on job prospects based on available work.
The only way to turn this round is to make sure that we reach the teachers and the schools and make them aware of the wide array of opportunities that are available to talented pupils’
