New chair for BEFS sought

The Built Environment Forum Scotland (BEFS) is seeking a new Chair

BEFS writes:
As the current BEFS Chair, Professor Emeritus Cliff Hague, is stepping down at the next AGM and Annual Congress on 11 November, having served three years, we are inviting expressions of interest from potential candidates for the role.

The position of Chair is an exciting opportunity for a resourceful and confident individual to play a central role in developing BEFS not only as the Scottish intermediary body for the historic environment but also the wider built environment.   Cliff Hague said: ‘I have learned a lot and greatly enjoyed my three year spell as Chair of BEFS. Scotland’s Historic Environment Strategy and the creation of Historic Environment Scotland mean that the future will present a new set of opportunities for BEFS and its member organisations. Therefore, I feel that this is a good time to bring in a successor – and for me to step back and free some time for research and writing.’

If you are interested in the position of BEFS Chair then please write to John Pelan, Director in the first instance, outlining (no more than one side of A4) why you would be a suitable candidate for the post.  Please also include a brief career synopsis (maximum 500 words).
