This week (May 19 – May 23) saw apprentices from across Scotland showcasing their skills and many events with local training organisations, including several high profile construction events.
Historic Scotland took over the iconic St. Andrews Square in the centre of Edinburgh, with apprentices demonstrating traditional lettering and plasterwork and slate roofing techniques. Information on training providers and funding for apprenticeships were also available.

Women in construction events based around structural engineering challenges were held at Forth Valley and East Kilbride.
The CITB Skillbuild regional heats were at City of Glasgow College, where apprentices from across Scotland competed to show off their work in construction trades to win the coveted World Skills prize.
Potential construction apprentices from the Scottish Highlands, Aberdeen and Caithness were offered interactive training and site tours at ‘CITB- Come and Join us in Construction’ events.
