New research on Welsh policy for retailing and town centres

A new publication reviewing the effectiveness of Welsh national planning policy for retailing and town centres has been issued, and features Ruthin, a designated conservation area and market town. 

The Welsh Government writes:
The research covers:

  • retail statistics
  • the threats and opportunities facing town centres in Wales
  • the effectiveness of retail planning policy in Planning Policy Wales and Technical Advice Note 4 Retailing and Town Centres
  • recommendations where change to retail planning guidance is needed.
