A cross sector working group hosted by the Planning Advisory Service (PAS) and including key statutory consultees and representatives from industry and Local Government, has worked together to launch a document containing 10 commitments for effective pre-application engagement.
PAS writes:
Timely and thoughtful engagement between the main parties at the start of the planning process is much more likely to yield positive results. By holding early discussions all parties can identify, and solve, potential problem areas early on, leading to faster decisions and higher-quality schemes.
