Hackney pub retains ACV status after landmark hearing

Hackney Council has become the first local authority in the country to successfully defend an appeal over a decision to list a pub – The Chesham Arms – as an asset of community value (ACV).

The former pub in east London will remain listed as an asset of community value under the Localism Act after a judge dismissed the appeal against a local council’s decision to grant it the status at a tribunal hearing last week.
