IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly has reminded IHBC’s members, colleagues and service partners that tendering and other business opportunities can be circulated free to specialist bodies on the IHBC’s business listing service, HESPR: ‘Just email HESPR@ihbc.co.uk and the IHBC will alert our listed businesses to any opportunities for free!’
The IHBC’s scheme of Historic Environment Service Providers Recognition – HESPR – is a listing, promotional and ‘signposting’ service that the IHBC offers to commercial companies that can demonstrate a structured compliance with the IHBC’s service and conservation standards.
Seán O’Reilly said: ‘HESPR is the perfect low-cost, high-benefit service for conservation businesses in a tight economy such as ours is today, not least because it was developed especially with the needs of the IHBC’s most cost-conscious members in mind; just think ‘Singapore service – Ryanair rates’!’
‘We don’t pretend to regulate HESPR companies either – that’s bureaucratic, costly and maybe even questionable for a body such as ourselves. Instead we check out customer service and conservation credentials of companies, and if we are satisfied and they can tie operations to an IHBC staff member, then they are offered a HESPR listing! In effect HESPR is your personal signpost to the best!’
Recognition under the IHBC’s HESPR scheme allows companies – including sole traders – to:
- subscribe to the terms of the IHBC’s professional, ethical, technical and service standards for the historic environment,
- support the IHBC’s charitable operations, underpinning their own corporate & ethical objectives
- benefit from a corporate association with the IHBC by having services promoted collectively through the IHBC’s communications networks.
Annual subscriptions start at just £130, but these generate benefits that include:
- Email alerts on tenders, service provision and other business opportunities
- Cost effective collective promotion under the IHBC’s HESPR banner
- One free IHBC ‘Jobs etc’ advertisement each year – worth up to £400+VAT
- Listing promotion in the IHBC’s Yearbook: circulation c.5000
