IHBC’s journal Context: New themes for 2013!

The themes for future editions of Context, the journal of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC), have been announced for 2013.

IHBC Communications and Outreach Secretary Charles Strang said: ‘The theme for each issue of Context takes the form of three or four main articles. That allows us to look in detail at a conservation issue or building type whilst still maintaining our engaging mixture of items of general interest and regular features, news, book reviews and reports from IHBC’s officers.’

‘Themes provide a great opportunity to focus on current sector priorities across our inter-disciplinary membership, while still being sufficiently flexible to allow us to accommodate the rapid changes in the working environments of our members.’

IHBC projects officer, Fiona Newton, who guides Context’s publication as chair of the editorial board, said: ‘Context themes this year range from Leisure, and Scotland to the Coast, as well as the usual September issue on the IHBC’s 2013 Annual School, to take place in Carlisle on 20-22 June, covering heritage skills.’
