The Heritage Alliance has announced that the Sylvia Waddilove Foundation is open to applications for grants for appropriate building preservation works.
THA writes:
The Sylvia Waddilove Foundation makes grants for various purposes including the preservation of buildings and the Trustees have for the start of 2013 allocated a one off, increased pot of funds to award specifically for the preservation of pre-1940 listed buildings owned by charities. Church buildings or buildings used specifically for religious activity are excluded.
The building may not be in need of immediate repair, but is otherwise in danger of demolition or removal. The project must have started within 2 years prior to, or will start within 1 year of, the date of the application. The renovation or rebuilding should exclude extensions if the extension work forms the majority of the work being carried out on the original structure and the maximum project cost should be no more than £3,000,000.
Subject to the receipt of qualifying applications, the Trustees will either pay 3 grants of up to £33,000 or 4 grants of up to £25,000.
