Research, advised by the IHBC, is currently being conducted into the effectiveness of the planning system in protecting historic parks and gardens and responses, and responses are currently being sought from local authorities in England.
Survey author and IHBC member Victoria Thomson writes:
An online survey has been sent this week to all local planning authorities in England, marked for the attention of the Conservation Officer. If you are able to respond on behalf of your authority, it would be very much appreciated. It will also contribute to an increased understanding of how historic parks and gardens (both registered and unregistered) are handled within the planning system.
If you have not received the questionnaire, and would like it an alternative format, or would simply like to know more about the research, please contact Victoria Thomson at Oxford Brookes University: victoria.thomson-2010@brookes.ac.uk
