CYT seeks rising stars of the construction industry

The Construction Youth Trust (CYT) scheme is intended to promote the construction industry to young people of all social backgrounds and, as a result, increase the number and diversity of entrants into the sector, with the closing date for entries 12 October 2012.

CYT writes:
Previous winners of the awards have already started their mentoring programme and have experienced not only one-to-one mentoring but also site visits and industry networking events.

In the next Duke of Gloucester Young Achievers Scheme, the judges will be particularly looking for young people who have not only achieved excellence in their careers so far but may have had to overcome challenges to get there. They will also look for individuals who have gone the extra mile to promote construction as a career or helped others in the wider community.

Entries are now being accepted and must be submitted to Construction Youth Trust by 12th October 2012. The Categories are:

1. Architecture
2. Engineering
3. Project Management
4. Surveying
5. Overall winner (individual chosen from the winners of the other four categories)

The finalists will be judged by a prestigious panel of experts through a process of presentations and interviews.

The winners will be presented at an awards dinner in London in Spring 2013 and will receive a unique package of support through the Trust and development opportunities and a one year mentoring programme to enable them to make an even greater impact in their future careers. There will be an additional prize for the overall winner.
