Jon Spalding, Managing Director at Owlsworth IJP Ltd also writes in LinkedIn:

I’m incredibly proud to share that St Andrews Chapel has won the Conservation & Historic category (up to £20m) at the Architects’ Journal Retrofit Awards 2026.

For everyone at Owlsworth Conservation, this is a particularly meaningful recognition of the care, craftsmanship and collaboration that went into such a sensitive historic project.

It was a privilege for us to act as main contractor alongside Malcolm Fryer, whose design brought a wonderfully inspiring vision to the project, with the expertise and guidance of SPAB helping to ensure the historic fabric was treated with the care it deserves.

Most importantly, congratulations to the whole team. Projects like this are only possible through the combined commitment, skill and passion of everyone involved.

A proud moment for Owlsworth Conservation, and a wonderful recognition of what can be achieved when conservation and thoughtful design come together.
