New communities minister Don Foster has emphasised the importance of planners and creating mixed communities at the Liberal Democrat party conference in Brighton.
The RTPI ran an invitation-only breakfast and a public fringe at the LibDem Conference in Brighton on Monday 24 September.

The Rt Hon Don Foster MP, DCLG minister, who spoke at our lunchtime fringe, stood up for the vital work planners in both the public and private sectors carry out: ‘One thing I can put firmly on the record is that planners are important in delivering the growth and jobs we need and improving quality of the lives of people in this country’.
