It’s been 30 years since the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, in December 2025. This recognised the Old and New Towns (collectively) as one of the most extraordinary urban landscapes in the world and the designation helps to make sure its authenticity is preserved for generations to come…..
It is looked after in partnership through the City of Edinburgh Council, Edinburgh World Heritage Trust and Historic Environment Scotland….
To help celebrate this anniversary of World Heritage Site status, a?photography competition?is being held by the WHS management partnership. Photography enthusiasts are encouraged to share an image capturing what makes Edinburgh so special…..
The deadline for submitting your entry is Friday 23 October 2026.
