IHBC features ‘Heritage from the Global doorstep’: Dublin’s Temple Bar marks 35th anniversary- ‘Phenomenal success’

Dublin’s Temple Bar has marked its 35th anniversary by paying tribute to the EU funding which kick-started its regeneration in 1991, reports RTE News.

RTE News writes:

The European Commission Representation in Ireland said the area is now ‘the beating heart of Dublin’s cultural life’ while the promoters of Temple Bar said they believe the area is a success and that its association with drinking and anti-social behaviour is ‘outdated’…

Temple Bar now attracts more than 20 million visitors a year, supports 5,000 jobs and generates more than €750 million in revenue.

A photo exhibition of Temple Bar… taking place in Smock Alley Theatre, is just one of a programme of anniversary events being held over the next six months to celebrated its 35th year.
