A Glasgow City Administration meeting heard available funding was significantly lower than what is required, reports Glasgow Live.
Glasgow Live writes:
… The councillor responsible for buildings in the city Ruairi Kelly revealed the figure as he said available funding for heritage properties falls far below what is needed…. He explained that repairs on listed buildings are more expensive as they require specialist treatment and there are fewer contractors… means the cost of the building work taking place on the properties is more than what they are worth – giving the city a large heritage deficit….
He said available funding could amount to £25 million to £30 million a year in grant allocations….
