Historic Environment Scotland is looking for your thoughts on volunteering – we need your input, to 19 July!

Historic Environment Scotland’s (HES) survey asks if you ‘Want to volunteer with us’, outlines how to get involved, what opportunities are on offer and how to help you ‘find an experience you’ll love’.

HES writes:

We welcome new volunteers throughout the year. You don’t need a background in history to get involved. What matters most is your enthusiasm and interest in what we do! Volunteering with us is designed to be rewarding for everyone involved. It offers the chance to explore your skills, share your talents, and connect with people. From our historic sites to national collections, there’s always something new to experience.

We understand that everyone’s time is different. That’s why we offer flexible opportunities to fit around your schedule. Training and guidance are provided so you can make the most of your time with us and feel confident in your role….

Joyce Leong Visitor Connector [said] ‘This volunteer work has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It opens a window for me, a retiree and newcomer to Edinburgh, to better know the city, meet people, and do things I enjoy doing.’…
