HLF is looking for at least one committee member in Wales and eight committee members across England in the following regions: East of England, East Midlands, South West and the West Midlands.
HLF writes:
Why join an HLF Committee?: Being a committee member presents an exciting and challenging opportunity for individuals with a strong commitment to our diverse heritage.
The work of our committees: Our committees take decisions on all requests between £100,000 and £2million and provide a crucial regional perspective to the HLF Board on larger grants, targeted initiatives and on regional priorities. Members meet people involved in heritage projects, represent HLF at openings and events and act as an advocate for the value of heritage to modern life.
Who should consider applying? Individuals need to have a broad appreciation of heritage and a commitment to promoting public understanding and enjoyment of it to the widest possible audience. We look for an understanding of regional issues and project development and delivery and an ability to think strategically and analytically and for good communication skills.
We are keen to receive applications from people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences who can demonstrate an affinity for a country or regions diverse and exciting heritage. We welcome applications from people from black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, disabled people and individuals across all age groups.
Appointments: Terms of appointment start on 1 April 2013 and are normally for a period of three years in the first instance.
