IHBC features ‘Heritage from the (former) doorstep’: Grade II Mill in Leek, Staffordshire demolished after being destroyed by fire

Demolition experts say they ‘feel the loss’ of an iconic mill destroyed in a huge fire. Potteries-based Baskervilles had been brought in to clear Leek’s Big Mill after it was deemed unsafe following an inferno.

Stoke on Trent Live writes:

The team had picked up plaudits for the efficiency of which they brought down the six-storey Grade II-listed building with Mill Street able to get back open yesterday…. The firm said it had been sent to the mill in previous years to ‘carry out repairs and securing works following break-ins and incidents of trespass’…
