IHBC’s newest CPD Circular, listing accessible and cost-effective ‘Continuing Professional Development’ (CPD) opportunities on our networks, has been simplified, with tighter ties to our Events Calendar, colour coding of provider categories.
The IHBC writes:
A warm welcome to the April edition of the IHBC CPD Circular, focusing on the forthcoming month it offers a snapshot of CPD events from the IHBC Events Calendar.
With the virtual Council as the IHBC’s exclusive, members-only UK-wide CPD opportunity, the main branch event this month will be held by the IHBC East Midlands Branch entitled Master Planning and Market Towns on the 27th April in Northampton. This exciting and timely event will cover the challenges of planning for the future of the region’s market towns whilst managing them as complex, multi-layered historic areas. These topics will be explored on the day by speakers from Historic England, the local planning authority – West Northamptonshire Council and the private sector.
The Branch event will return to Northamptonshire as the venue for an IHBC East Midlands event for the first time since September 2023. The venue will be the Court Room within the grade II* listed Northampton Guildhall. A fine and richly decorated Victorian building in the 13th century Gothic style.
The afternoon of the event will include two walking tours looking at active conservation projects in the town before the event finishes back at the Guildhall for a Q&A and close.
For anyone wanting to find out more about the membership application process, we are offering both Supporter to Affiliate Surgeries (between 12.00pm – 12.45pm ) and MATE sessions for those wanting to pursue Associate or Full IHBC membership (1.00pm -2.30pm) on the following dates: 6 May, 19 August, 18 November.
