IHBC features ‘Heritage from the doorstep’: Hotspur Press will rise from the ashes as developers issue promise for fire-ravaged mill

The developer indicates ‘We will ensure that The Hotspur Press building lives on as a major landmark in the city’, reports The Manchester Evening News.

The Manchester Evening News writes:

The fire-ravaged Hotspur Press will be partially rebuilt following the summer inferno which nearly destroyed one of Manchester’s architectural gems…. The blaze consumed what remained of Medlock Mill…

… a 2023 bid to use its façade in a 35-storey student accommodation tower from Manner won planning permission in May 2024…

Now, with the structure in ruins, the developer… has pledged to keep the sections of the mill which were due to be saved in the already-approved designs…

A new planning application will go to Manchester council by the end of 2025….
