IHBC welcomes new joint CEOs at Historic England to post

Claudia Kenyatta CBE and Emma Squire CBE have taken up the role of Co-Chief Executives of Historic England, following the retirement of Duncan Wilson on 31 October 2025.

IHBC Chair David McDonald said: ‘I am delighted to see the appointment of Claudia Kenyatta and Emma Squire as joint CEOs at Historic England. They are both eminently suited to this senior position and I look forward to working with them to deal with the challenges that the built and historic environment currently face.
