IHBC’s ‘Heritage from the doorstep’ (& ‘Management’ signpost): AJ on legal challenge to Barbican demolition… which ‘can proceed’

Campaigners fighting plans to redevelop an area on the edge of the Barbican Estate have won permission to proceed with a legal challenge that claims alternatives to demolition were overlooked, reports the Architects Journal.

Architects Journal writes:

… This week, a High Court judge granted permission for the judicial review to proceed…

The legal case, according to the campaign group’s legal team, has been granted on three grounds relating to:

(i) … absence of appropriate arrangements to ensure impartiality in the determination…;

(ii) … failure to apply policy relating to avoiding demolition…

(iii) the failure to consider alternatives …
