IHBC to provide perspectives at upcoming STBA Advisory Group Meeting, 16 June, London

Prof. John Edwards, IHBC Technical Panel Chair and STBA Board Member, will be on hand at the upcoming STBA Advisory Group meeting on 16 June, to deliver perspectives representing IHBC interests and concerns in the evolving policy landscape, including EPC reform, MEES and related initiatives.

The IHBC writes:

The policy roundtable will include presentations from DESNZ, Welsh and Scottish Government representatives, as well as other perspectives from the National Trust, Passivhaus Trust, CIAT, and more.  Discussion and Q&A will follow.

John Edwards said: ‘Traditional buildings work differently than modern buildings and we have concerns the proposed policy reforms do not adequately account for these differences, nor do they promulgate a risk-based approach to retrofit which we at the IHBC advocate.’

‘I look forward to bringing our concerns and hopes for successful policy reform in this space to the discussion panel and broader STBA stakeholder group.’

The meeting will also include presentations from Bath & North East Somerset Council and Pobl Housing Association on challenges and achievements in large-scale retrofit and net-zero projects, updates on STBA initiatives and activities, and networking opportunities.
