An extensive survey of historic structures within Dublin’s North Georgian Core is currently under way, in a bid to preserve and rejuvenate the architectural heritage of the area.
The Irish Independent writes:
This initiative is being conducted by the Department of Heritage, in collaboration with the Conservation Section of Dublin City Council… encompass 560 buildings… from Henrietta Street to North Circular Road, and from Blessington Street to Parnell Street…
… aims to assess the extent of dilapidation, vacancy, and potential conservation needs…
The survey is nearing completion, with initial findings expected in the coming months. …
A significant challenge facing many historic structures is poor maintenance.
