The Built environment Committee of the House of Lords is currently conducting three enquiries in relation to the built environment which include: ‘New towns: Practical Delivery’; ‘The Grey Belt’; and ‘High Streets in Towns and Small Cities’.

The Built Environment Committee of the House of Lords is currently conducting three enquiries in relation to the built environment. These enquiries include:

  • ‘New towns: Practical Delivery’ which opened19 March 2025. The deadline for written evidence is 12 May 2025
  • ‘The Grey Belt’ which opened 5 September 2024; and isno longer accepting evidence
  • ‘High Streets in Towns and Small Cities’ which opened 14 February 2024 and published a report ‘High Streets: life beyond retail’ on 28 November 2024. The Government’s response was published on 6 February 2025
