Want to be part of the Cities in Placemaking programme? This programme is a peer-to-peer learning experience for cities, designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to Placemaking, its application in the context of urban governance, and its implications for long-term systemic change. The goal is to create a collaborative effort that benefits from a wide range of perspectives, through interactive, participatory, and experiential learning, with a practical focus on the importance of Placemaking as a city-level strategy.

We are pleased to invite you to join the new group of the ‘Cities in Placemaking’ programme. To apply, please send a letter of intent that includes the following points:
- City Challenges: Describe the main urban challenges facing your city. These may include issues such as a lack of quality public spaces, challenges in social cohesion, urban revitalisation needs, among others.
- Placemaking Ideas: Proposals for placemaking initiatives that could be implemented in your city. Detail how these initiatives could transform urban spaces and benefit the local community.
- Financial and Logistical Support for European Cities: Indicate whether you can provide the financial support of €12.000 for each of the two years of the programme and how best to do so. If you cannot provide the support directly, specify if a third party would be responsible for funding it. Additionally, indicate if you can provide a venue or support any milestone of the programme.
- Participating Departments: Mention the departments in your city that will be involved in the programme. This may include departments of urban planning, community development, environment, transportation, among others.
The letter should be brief (maximum one page) and signed by a responsible public official. This will help us better understand your commitment and capacity to actively participate in the program.
Deadline for applications is: 31 March 2025
