‘The diner would be a tourism boost’, according to the applicant, as plans for a new seafront restaurant in place of an old toilet block in Troon have been lodged, reports The Daily Record.
The Daily Record writes:
Dorothy Birks, who runs the popular Kirkmichael Arms, has applied for planning permission to build the diner and a car park on North Shore Road. A surfers wet room, takeaway service, ice-cream kiosk, as well as the restaurant, are part of the proposals for the Barassie coastline….
Barassie is popular for kite surfers thanks to prevailing westerly winds.
