Mark Cranston started the hobby over a decade ago when he was looking for a brick as a doorstop for his garden shed, and he has a collection of over 4,000 and needs to find them a new home, reports Edinburgh Live.
Edinburgh Live writes:
While looking for a brick for his shed he came across a white painted brick from a former colliery… From there, his passion grew, and… has amassed a huge collection from Scotland…
Among his collection he has a fire brick that was salvaged from the SS Politician, which ran aground in the Outer Hebrides in 1941 and was carrying 264,000 bottles of malt whisky…
… The eccentric collector shares this passion with his friend Ian Suddaby – and together they own 6,000 different bricks…
… ‘The idea is that we would look after each others bricks but we want to put it in a museum.’…
