IHBC President Mike Brown writes:

‘Please join us for free online CPD with Barrister and IHBC member Dr Charles Mynors, offering insight into the new suite of simplified planning legislation in Wales and how lessons might be learnt across the rest of the UK, ‘Better legislation for the historic environment – lessons from Cardiff Bay’.  All IHBC Members in any category are welcome.

Charles was due to give an address at the Reading IHBC Annual School in June [#IHBCReading2024] but it had to be cancelled due to ‘purdah’ following the announcement of the General Election.  It will be of high relevance to all practitioners across the UK. As many of you will know, Charles is the author and co-author of several seminal legal tomes on heritage and landscape including ‘ Listed Buildings and Other Heritage Assets’ the latest edition of which was recently published.

As well as Charles’ presentation Council will also hear about the latest on progress towards the IHBC Charter.  There will also be a chance to raise your own suggestions, queries & quandaries about IHBC and related Council matters and activities.  So, make your voice heard!”…

IHBC’s Council is the IHBC’s inclusive advisory and training body, open to all IHBC members. All members can join in shaping our activities and plans, as we widen further the involvement of our members in the IHBC’s future.  For more details on IHBC’s Council including previous minutes and content HERE.

We hope you will join us for what will be fascinating CPD together with updates and debate on current sector and IHBC issues.
