Introduction
In this issue, we are delighted to highlight the wealth of IHBC Branch events taking place across the country over the coming months, including an opportunity to discover more about stained glass conservation and the MEND project at Wightwick Manor with the West Midlands Branch, a sustainable retrofit training day with the North Branch in Durham and the Wales Branch Conference and AGM in Gregynog Hall in Newtown. The RTPI South West & IHBC South West Branch will also be holding the Heritage in Practice Hybrid Seminar on 26 September.
October begins with the London Branch Day Conference, ‘A Walk on the Wild Side: Balancing the Built and Natural Environments’, which takes place on 1 October. Meanwhile, the Yorkshire Branch AGM will be held in Wakefield on the 12 October and the East Anglia Branch will be hosting an event on Conservation Engineering in Norwich on the 24th.
Looking further ahead, the South East Branch will be hosting a CPD training day on 1 November in Eastbourne, titled ‘No longer just hot air: Updates in climate change policy, retrofit and renewable energy’, and there will also be CPD training event on the topic of conservation engineering in Swindon on 3 December, hosted by the South West Branch.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that the deadline for applications for the IHBC Gus Astley Student Award is Monday 30 September.
