Building repair a matter for debate in Scotland

Following extensive lobbying in Scotland’s Parliament, including presentations at the Local Government and Regeneration Parliamentary Committee presented by, among others, Built Environment Forum Scotland (BEFS) Chair Cliff Hague, and John McKinney, Secretary to the National Federation of Roofing Contractors, MSP Mike MacKenzie, Scottish National Party MSP for the Highlands and Islands) has lodged a Parliamentary question with the Scottish Government asking ‘what advice it provides to towns and villages whose historic built environment has fallen into disrepair.’

An answer is expected on 19 April.

Mike is a former building contractor and an active member of the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Construction.
