IHBC Chair David McDonald has noted his personal sadness and, on behalf of the IHBC, offered condolences on the recent death of one of the Institute’s most distinguished members, Rosemarie MacQueen, MBE.
David McDonald said: ‘I was deeply saddened to hear of the untimely death of Rosemarie Macqueen. She had a long career in planning and conservation in London much of it as head of the Conservation and Urban Design Team at the City of Westminster, then latterly as Director of Planning.’
‘As a member of the Association of Conservation Officers (ACO) then the IHBC, she was at the forefront of conservation in the capital.’
‘As her counterpart in an adjoining Borough, I valued her skills and insight into the politics of urban conservation as well as her impish sense of humour. She also contributed to the ACO and IHBC as Chair of the London Branch and as a speaker at conferences and Annual Schools.’
‘I shall miss her intensely’.
