In this issue we are delighted to announce the continuation of our pre-conference webinar series in the run up to the IHBC Annual School in Reading on 12-15 June. These free, lunch-time webinars set the scene for the upcoming school and provide an excellent way to boost your CPD during your lunch break!
We are pleased to be welcoming back Andrew Lavender, who will be delivering a talk on ‘Caring for buildings through effective enforcement’, on Friday 3rd May, before Dr. Caroline Ikin leads a session on Thursday 16th May, which will explore the ‘creative partnership between Gertrude Jekyll and Edwin Lutyens at Munstead Wood’.
In addition to these online events, the South East Branch are collaborating with AECB for an in person event offering an opportunity to learn more about the adaptation, retrofit and remodelling of a listed Quaker house in Lewes, on 18th May, whilst the West Midlands Branch are hosting an event on Registered Parks & Gardens, and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) in Shropshire on 19th June.
On a final note, all IHBC members are warmly invited to attend the online AGM, on 30thApril, which will open at 5.30pm with a talk by Dr Robyn Pender entitled ‘Taming the elephant in the room: ‘Why exactly are we using so much energy in buildings in the first place?’…
