ICOMOS-UK President Clara Arokiasamy OBE said: ‘My signing a Memorandum of Understanding with David McDonald , Chair of IHBC,  puts our two organisations informal working arrangements to date on a formal footing.’

‘ICOMOS-UK is excited by the possibilities this offers our organisations in  developing joint education and training projects and events in the promotion of  conservation in the UK and abroad.’

IHBC Chair David McDonald said: ‘I was delighted to again meet Clara Arokiasami, President of ICOMOS UK and sign our Memorandum of Understanding.’

‘This promises to be the start of a new and very positive period of joint working between our organisations. I look forward to future meetings and collaboration on issues of common interest’.

IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly said: ‘The first major benefit of this new development will be our enhanced engagement with the developing ICOMOS-UK conference focussed on retrofit, to take place in Liverpool on 17 June, offering learning that complements the finance and economics focus of our own 2024 Annual School in Reading – #IHBCReading2024 – on 13-15 June.’
