An ‘amphibious’ house that rises along with the water to avoid flooding has been granted planning permission by Wycombe District Council for a flood-prone site by the River Thames near Marlow.
The property, designed by BACA Architects will rest on fixed foundations inland. Whenever a flood occurs, the building is designed to rise up in its dock and float.
