… the need to make the case for the promotion and protection of the arts, heritage and creative industries is greater than ever…

Culture Counts writes:

Culture Counts works to protect and develop the culture sector for the common good. Lori has extensive experience working across heritage, arts and the creative sector, including in fundraising, capital development and most recently in international projects.

Moira Jeffrey chair of the Culture Counts Steering group commented, “Lori joins Culture Counts when the organisation is demonstrating its vital role for the cultural sector, as we emerge from the pandemic and face the costs crisis. Lori’s experience of showing the best of Scotland’s culture internationally, as well as her understanding of the challenges facing our organisations and artists serves her well in making the case for culture with partners and policymakers across Scotland and beyond.”

Lori Anderson commented, “I am delighted to have been appointed Director of Culture Counts, particularly at this time when the need to make the case for the promotion and protection of the arts, heritage and creative industries is greater than ever.
“I am really looking forward to working with the committed network of partners and organisations who have been tirelessly advocating and whose work demonstrates the critical role that culture has in navigating the challenges of our time.”
