All categories of IHBC members – Supporters, Affiliates, Associates and Full Members – are invited to join the IHBC’s next free Council from 2pm on 19 October which includes IHBC updates, training on charity leadership and trustee/director roles, and our first IHBC Presidential and Council Chair elections.
… one of the most critical operations in the heritage sector…
The IHBC writes:
IHBC Council is the IHBC’s inclusive advisory and training body, with training at its heart. At this next online Council we will introduce attendees to one of the most critical operations in the heritage sector – and in the IHBC – the roles and duties of trustees and, by extension, company directors:
- What is a charity?
- Take the Governance Quiz?
- Know your charity
- Taking a role in charity management
- Becoming a trustee
… includes the first election of IHBC President and Council Chair…
Catriona Reynolds, Head of Governance & Engagement at Arts & Business Scotland will introduce interesting interactive practical online training with breakout sessions too for a role as a Trustee.
This Council theme will address the needs of IHBC members, whether as charity trustees, company directors, or as members that work with – or are members of – a charity such as the IHBC. Training can be for those acting as, or considering being an IHBC Trustee in the future, anyone involved in the management of any charity, as a Trustee or other volunteer.
… amenity, civic or professional bodies, Building Preservation Trusts or hobby and outside interest organisations…
This can include amenity, civic or professional bodies, Building Preservation Trusts or hobby and outside interest organisations. Proper governance and management is necessary for all charitable and volunteer bodies of whatever size or interest.
Council also includes the first election of IHBC President and Council Chair. The appointment of the President and Vice President of IHBC rests with the Council.
REGISTER for IHBC Council online attendance on Wednesday 19 October at 2pm
